The Saperas family continue the tradition of making exceptional Banyuls in the style of their forefathers.
Our vineyards are all terrassed on the pre-Cambrian schist rock unique to the region.
All vineyard work on these steep slopes is manual, and we have around 60,000 vines to tend. They are made up of: Grenache noir : 65%, Grenache gris : 15%, Grenache blanc : 11%, Syrah : 3%, Vieux Carignan : 6%. The average vine age is 40-50 years. Vinification is in a traditional style, giving wines that express elegance and complexity. Our cellar is full of barrels and casks of many different sizes for the long ageing required to produce outstanding Banyuls wines.
